Mini Vehicle Mat (part 2)
Here is part two of this little city. Today I made the buildings. You can see how I made the cars and mat in this post. Here is the pattern for the buildings:
Buildings:
I am using building number 2 in the example for photos. The proccess is exactly the same for all the buildings. The only difference is the size when finished.
1. Cut out the building on cardstock or other thick paper. It can be nice to use colored paper to get different colors and looks. Draw on any details you want, like windows, bricks or signs.
2. Fold on all the dotted lines.3. Glue the tabs to the other sides to make it a cube shape. Now your building is done! You can glue other things onto the roof or around the sides for extra decoration.
Construction Site:
The construction site was really fun for me to make because the piles of dirt are so fun to twist and pinch. I am planning to make construction vehicles in my next post.
1. Use thick paper or thin cardboard (i am using cardstock) to cut out the shape of your base. This will be the size your construction site takes up. Use a color that will look good as the ground.
2. Cut a strip of cardstock in a different color.3. Fold it three times. Two of the folds should be the same size, the height you want the fence, and the other fold should be smaller.4. Glue the the parts that are the same size together, creating a thicker area.5. Cut slits at the legnth of each corner on the strip. Then fold there. That way, the strip can smoothly go around the base.6. Glue the wall all the way around the base.7. Cut a strip of thinner brown paper. You could even tear it, it does not have to be neat. In fact a little messy is good.8. Twist and crumple the strip. Then glue it inside the construction zone however you please. Just try to make it look like a pile of dirt. Repeat until you feel that the construction site looks complete. Thanks for reading this, and have fun crafting! Here is part 1 of this project, and part 3.
