5 DIY Mini Dog Accessories

Here is how to make 5 different miniature dog things. A bed, bone, food dishes, pee pad, and toy. You could also use some of them for cats. If you want to make a dog to go with these, here is a tutorial from My Froggy Stuff that shows you how to make one using pipe cleaners.

Dog Bed

This dog bed it cute and I like that it is soft. The materials you will need are fleece, cardboard, and stuffed animal filling.

Cut out an oval from cardboard the size of how big you want the bed to be. Cut a long strip from the cardboard to.

Run your fingers along the strip to bend it a little and make it curve nicely without folding. Cut the strip so that it goes around the oval exept for the opening you want.

Cover the strip with fleece.

Cover the oval with fleece. Cut out triangles so it fits around the cardboard, and glue them down on the back. Before you glue all of them down, put a little bit of stuffing in. I'm using hot glue for this whole project.

Glue the strip around the base.

Rope Toy

I happened to have this string that looks like rope. If you don't have that, you could use thin yarn, or use multiple strands of embroidery thread for each peice. I think it would be cool if I added a strand of colorful thread in with the string. Mine came out a little messed up, but maybe its more realistic because dogs mess up there toys.

Cut three peices of string that are equal lengths. they should be longer than you want the toy to end up. If they are longer the whole project will be a lot easier. Tie the strands together at the top.

Braid them to the length you want the toy to be. Using a peice of tape to hold it down helps. Sorry the photos upside down.

Tie a knot at the end to hold the braid and trim the ends.

Pee Pad

Take a paper towel and cut out a square peice from it.

Fold the square in half, and then in half the other way to make a smaller square. Glue it in place that way with a glue stick.
Cut a very skinny strip of scrap paper. Color it brown on both sides.

Twist, pinch and crumple it.

Position it on the pee pad and glue it down.

You can also use a yellow marker on it if you want.

Dog Bone

You could use different colors to make it look like a different type of toy. Use polemer clay.

Roll a tube shape from the clay.

Make the center skinnier.

Shape the ends so they are nice little wide parts on the end. You will likely have to take some clay off. Bake according to the directions on your clay.

Food Dishes

The bowl shape of these is not as hard to make as it looks. Make two dishes and keep one empty for a water dish. Use polemer clay and bake according to the directions that came with your clay.

Roll a ball of clay in the color you want the dish to be. I took a picture, but it was very blurry.
Push your finger into the ball to flatten it out and make the indent for the dish.

For a water dish, just leave it empty. Here are directions on how to make food. Roll lots of very tiny balls of brown clay. They can be lopsided, it does not matter. They are hard to see in this picture.

Stick them in the dish until it looks full. Make sure they are stuck in firmly enough that they arent going to fall out.

Thanks for reading this I hope you enjoy making these.

The ball in the photo is just a bead I had, and the
dog I made following the tutorial at the top.
