DIY Miniature Presents
These miniature presents are super fun to make and a great holiday decoration for a dollhouse! They would look perfect under a tiny tree. I thought it was really fun to choose different patterned paper for each gift. They are easy to use for different size dolls, and use pretty simple common supplies. The presents don't actually have gifts inside them, they are just for show.
Also, a quick anouncment. I updated my December art prompt post to include the drawings I did for it, so go check that out!
Supplies:
- cardboard
- paper (multiple colors/patterns is good. I used oragami paper.)
- glue stick
- scissors
- tape
Use a glue stick to glue the cardboard pieces on top of each other. Stack them until it is the height you want the present to be.
Choose the wrapping paper. I used oragami paper because there are lots of colors and patterns, and I did not need very big pieces. Cut out a rectangular piece big enough to wrap around the cardboard stack.
Fold one of the open ends down, like the photo below. This part is just like wrapping a full size present.
The gift could be done here, or you can add a ribbon for an extra detail. If you want to add a ribbon, cut out a long strip of paper in a different color then the wrapping paper.
Wrap the strip around the middle of the present, making sure to go around the sides and tuck it under the bottom. Cut off any extra paper.
Take the rest of the paper and glue it around the gift in the oppostite direction, so it crisscrosses with the other ribbon. This photo is actually the bottom of the gift.
Your miniature present is finished! I had so much fun making these, I made more for a whole stack of gifts. I hope this cute, festive project inspires you to make something to.
