Clay Mushroom Earrings
I really love mushrooms, I think they are adorable and I love the cabincore, fairy vibe. These mushroom earrings are super cute and you can change the size if you want smaller earrings. You can also change the colors, but I love the classic red mushrooms. You can make a keychain instead of earrings if you want. They are made from polymer clay. I think this is the perfect time for mushrooms with September coming up, I'm not sure if its just me but they seem like a fall thing. I strongly recomend reading all the directions before you start making the earrings.
Supplies:
- two colors of polymer clay (I used red and white)
- something to cut clay with (a butterknife would work)
- jump rings
- earring wires
- needle nose pliers
- wire or toothpick (to poke hole)
Start by rolling two balls of red clay. Try to make them the same size.
Press the clay flat.
Press the bottom of the circle flatter, and pinch the top taller. Try to make everything still lay flat.
Refine the red piece so it is rounder, and make the second one the same way.
Take your white clay and roll it into an oval. Then press flat. When you flatten it make it the same thickness as the red piece.
Cut off some of the oval. This will be the stem of the mushroom.
Gently press the white clay onto the red clay. Make sure they stick together but don't press so hard the pieces get smushed.
Now we make the mushroom spots. Roll small balls of white clay. The sizes can vary.
Press the white spheres flat.
Place the dots on the red wherever you want them and press them on so they stick.
Cut off any parts of the spots that stick off the mushroom.
Use wire to poke a hole in the mushroom. Make sure it is big enough to fit your jump ring.
Bake your clay. Wait for them to cool before attatching the earrings.
Open a jump ring and put it through the hole in the clay.
Add an ear wire on the jump ring. Then close the jump ring.
On the other mushroom make sure the earring faces the opposite way so you can see both mushrooms when you wear them.
Thanks for reading this post and I hope you enjoyed it. Now you can make your very own version of these mushroom earrings!
