Scout is Not a Band kid
Scout is Not a Band Kid by Jade Armstrong is a realistic fiction graphic novel. I liked the characters, and they felt relatable to me. I also liked how lighthearted the story was, while still including some difficult things. The art was very cute and colorful.
Scout is desperate to meet her favorite author, and her last chance could be at a festival later that year. So, Scout decides to join her school's band when she finds out their field trip is at the same location. But it turns out being in band, without knowing how to play an instrument, is not as easy as Scout thought it would be, especially when your in a section with Merrin, the most serious musician in the band.
