DIY Mini Picture Frames

These miniature pictures make good decorations for doll rooms. They are also pretty fast and easy to make, and don't need fancy supplies for. You can make ones to hang on the wall, or sit on a shelf or table. It is also easy to change the size. Because picture frames are so common in real houses, I think these make a really great addition to a doll room.

Supplies:

  • Paper (preferably thick, but computer paper works fine to)
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Photos, drawings, coloring pages, etc.
  • Clear packing tape or contact paper
  • Ruler (optional)
  • Pencil (optional)
Start by choosing what you want to be in the picture frame. Keep in mind the size you want. You could use sections from calenders or magazines, or paint something yourself, you could also use something from a coloring book. Really, the possibilities are endless! Cut out your picture to the size you want. Keep the sides as strait as you can.
Take your packing tape and stick it on top of the photo. This adds a clear, shiny layer. Cut the extra tape off the sides.
Get your paper. Use whatever color you want the frame to be. Cut a rectangle a little bigger than the photo. Again, try to keep the sides strait.
Glue the photo onto the frame so the white shows evenly around the whole thing.
If you want to hang the picture on a wall, you can be done right here. I used a glue stick to glue mine to the wall of my doll room, but you can use sticky tack if you want it to be temperary. If you want it to stand on a table, follow the next steps.

Cut a small rectangular piece of paper. Fold one end.
Add glue to the folded bit and glue to the back of the picture frame.
It should be able to stand up on it's own now. You can trim the stand a little if it is too long.
Thanks for reading and I hope its useful!
