Beetle and the Hollowbones is a fantasy graphic novel by Aliza Layne. It is one of my favorite books and I highly recomend it. Today I am going to talk about how awesome this book is.

Beetle is a teenage goblin who is learning magic. She loves to hang out at the mall with her friend Blob Ghost in her free time. Then, things start to get confusing when Beetle's childhood friend, Kat, comes back to town. The mall is going to be torn down, Blob Ghost can't leave, and to make matters worse, the one behind it is Kat's aunt. Beetle and Kat must work to understand their feelings about sorcery and eachother, all while saving Blob Ghost.

This graphic novel is definitley fantasy, although it also has modern day technology mixed into the world. It has lots of LGBTQ+ characters. I like the drawings a lot and there is a variety of how characters look.

Fall is by far my favorite season, so I have been excited to release the third part of my series recomending graphic novels for each season since the begining. Summer Graphic Novels

Summer is here, so it's time for my summer graphic novel list! I decided to make this a series, so check out my  spring list  next. I compiled a list of eight graphic novels I really liked that are set during summer or even just give me summer vibes, so it's time to get that summer reading done! Note that these aren't in a specific order. Sunny Side Up by Jennifer L. Holm When Sunny is sent to stay with her grandfather in Florida for the summer, she realizes it isn't going to be the epic summer vacation she was planning. This is one of my favorite books, I like that it isn't too intense but still has important lessons. Lumberjanes When Mal, Jo, Molly, Ripley, and April arrive at summer camp, it's not what they expected. Something strange is going on in the woods around camp, and it's up to them to find out what. DIY Bookshelf Bookmark

Sorry I haven't posted for a few weeks, but I am trying to get back into it with this one. I actually took the photographs for this project months ago, in the fall, but never got around to writing the instructions.  I always like having bookmarks around to grab whenever I am reading something. These bookmarks are a quick, versatile project, as you can change the design to fit your style. I love the natural fall colors I used on mine, but you could completly change it by coloring it differently or using a thicker pen. Play around with different styles! You can also use the same drawing style to make a card or decoration instead of a bookmark. Supplies: Paper (thicker paper is better, it also depends on the medium you are using) scissors pencil pen (or whatever you want to outline in optional coloring tools (can be watercolor, colored pencils, or something else) optional ruler Start by cutting out the paper you will draw on. DIY Reversible Belt Pouch

  I'm really exited to share how to make these belt bags because they give such a clean, finished result but are actually really simple to make, if you already have some sewing skills. I made mine with ren faire in mind but I think they are super cute for any time if you use your favorite fabrics. Speaking of which, the bag is fully reversible so you have double the color options! You can also change the size and shape for different affects. Before you start making the project, I recomend reading through all the instructions so you know what to expect. I also recomend making use of your iron! First, cut out all the pieces. You need four pieces for the bag, two flap pieces, and a small rectangle for the belt loop. Two of the bag pieces will be on one side and two on the other, so I used different colors. Each of the flap pieces will be on one side, so they can be different colors as well.
