Miniature Dollhouse Bedding
I will show you how to make the bedding for a miniature bed in this tutorial. I have made another post about miniature bedding for a loft bed.. Check out how I changed things for a loft bed in my other post here. This project is a sewing one. I like that it uses all strait lines, and also because of that a beginer can make it. Also, MAKE USE OF YOUR IRON!
Comforter:
What bed is complete without a blanket? Choose two colors of cotton fabric, one for the inside and one for the outside. I think it looks nice to use a colored fabric on the outside and white on the inside, but I also like using other combinations. Make sure that the fabric looks good with your matress.
Cut out two rectangles, one from each fabric. They should be bigger than your bed, like in the photo.
Put the pieces right sides together. Sew most of the way around the edge but leave and opening to turn it right side out.Turn it and iron the opening in. Then hand sew it closed.
Place the comforter on the bed and mark the sides where it hangs over. Then, iron those so that it fits on and the sides do not stick out.Fold over the top and iron it down so you see the inside fabric.

Pillows:
Pillows add a lot to the bed and can give it some more color and texture. Start by making some basic white pillows and then make some fun ones.
Start by cutting a rectangle out of your fabric.Fold it in half with the right sides together. Sew along the sides but leave one side open.Flip right side out. Iron the side that is open in to create a finished edge. Then stuff.Sew the open side shut.
Make more pillows to decorate. Use different fabrics and sizes to give more variety.
Now arrange everything on your bedframe and you have a cozy spot for your dolls. All the bedding is completely removable so you can change it to a whole different style.I glued popsicle sticks and wooden dowels together to make my bedframe, and made a matress from fabric and sponges. If you make your matress white it will be easy to match with any color of comforter.
I love your comment use your iron. Kookums failing because I try to short cut and not use it, always fails or at least doesn't look as good.
