Monster High Doll Nightgown (w/ pattern!)

This nightgown is really cute and you could make the sleeves longer if you wanted. I used cotton fabric, but you could use flannel to make it cozier. Remember to check the nightgown frequntley on the doll, to make sure it fits. Its so anoying if you finish the whole thing, and then find out one part is to small. I suggest hand sewing for this, everything is so tiny and there are lots of curves.

Step 1:

Print up the pattern. Here it is:

once you print it, trace the peices on fabric and cut them out.
Step 2:

Hem the sleeves.

Step 3:

Hem the neckline on the front piece.

step 4:

Hem the neckline on both back peices, and the straight edge.

Step 5:

Sew the front and back pieces together at the shoulders. Remember to do them right sides together.

Step 6:

Sew the sleeves on like this. Use pins to help keep it lined up. This is the hardest part to sew.

Step 7:

Fold over the back so it lines up with the front. Then sew the sleeves and the side seems on both sides. Stop a little before the curve, I forgot to mark it on the pattern but you can see about where to stop in this photo. Just make sure to stop in the same spot on both sides!

Step 8:

Hem the bottom edge of the nightgown. Go all the way around the curves.

Step 9:

Flip it right side out.

Then attatch velcro or snaps to the back. It helps to try it on the doll and mark where you want them.
Then you are done! Have fun making your own.
The nightgown also kind of fits breyer rider dolls, I might alter the pattern a little sometime and make one for them to. This girl's hair will just not lay down!
