Dollhouse Wood Floor Tricks
To make wood floors in doll rooms, mostly I see people use actual little peices of wood, which gets a really great result but is time consuming, or they use scrapbook paper that looks like wood. But I don't just have scrapbook paper which looks like wood on hand all the time. So I have found a couple easier tricks to make wood floors for doll rooms.
One way is to not put a floor in. This wouldnt work great in a whole dollhouse, but in a single room it is a fine way and you don't have to do anything. Like less then you would if you put in a floor. Just set the room on a wood surface and it will look like its got a wood floor. There is the trouble of making the walls stand up though. This room is a bakerey/cafe. It is in a shoebox and can close up, so it is a lot easier to close with no floor.
My next way to make wood floor does tend to look a little nicer, its smoother. This time you do have an actual floor so it would be good for dollhouses and other two story stuff. This is pretty much like the scrapbook paper techniqe, but making your own paper.
Choose a crayon that is the color you want the floor to be. Peel the paper off the crayon.Roll the crayon sidways on your paper. You have to use some pressure. It should create a texture like this. If you do it on a wooden surface the texture will be even more like a floor. Continue until you cover as much paper as you need.
