DIY Miniature Laptop
I really like how the laptops turned out. They look really good in doll rooms. They do not close. These laptops are pretty easy to make, and you can change the size really easily. The supplies you need to make them are:
- cardboard
- black paper (or whatever color you want your laptop to be)
- tape
- regular white computer paper (optional)
- magazine or calender with photos (optional)
- small stickers (optional)
- gluestick
- ruler
- pencil
- scissors
step 1:
Cut out two rectangles from cardboard. Mine are 1 1/2 in by 1 in. You can make these a different size if you want a different size laptop. I cut out four and glued two on top of eachother because I wanted it to be thicker.
step 2:
Use tape along the long edge to connect the peices. Put a peice on both sides, and make sure that it is bent in the position you want it to be in. In the picture the tape is a little hard to see, you have to look closely.
step 3:
Cover the whole thing with paper. The most important part to look good is the back, because the front will be covered by a screen. Just use a glue stick. I cut slits at the corners to help it look smooth and easier to glue on.
step 4:
Cut out a peice of paper that is slightly smaller than the screen. Mine is from a calender. You could take a picture from a magazine, or draw your own, or print one up. You could even print up an actual screenshot!
step 5:
glue it onto the screen of the laptop. If you want to, you can draw the keys onto the keyboard. I think it looks fine without, so I didn't draw any.
step 6:
To decorate the back of the laptop, you could put tiny stickers on it. I made my own decorations to look like stickers. Draw a small image on paper, and then cut it out. You could also make a logo you want on the computer this way.
Glue the "stickers" onto the laptop.
Your done!
I love how easy these are to make different from eachother. It is also super easy to make different sizes. Hope you enjoy!

That's really fun, Zoe. Looks like you've been making all sorts of miniature furniture too.
