DIY Felt Keychains

I am in the mood to make keychains, because this is my second post about keychains today. These are easy enough that you could make one if your just learning how to sew. If your more experienced, you will make them pretty fast. You could also use them as Christmas ornaments. I made an avocado, sunglasses, and a mushroom. You don't need a pattern for these. I will tell you the shapes you need to cut out for each one. I think the avocado is my favorite. More food would be cute. They have that charming homemade feel which just makes them even more cute. Enjoy!

Sunglasses

Cut out these shapes from felt. You can change the color of the pink peice to whatever color you want the frames to be. The black lenses should fit inside the frames. If you are a having trouble cutting out the right shapes, draw them on paper first then trace them onto the felt. The sunglasses are the hardest shapes to cut out. If your worried about it, I recomend trying one of the others first.

Sew the black lenses onto one of the pink peices.
Line up the two pink peices and begin sewing around them. Stop when you get to where you want the loop to be. Fold a peice of ribbon in half to make a little loop, then stick it between the sunglasses and sew in.
Sew most of the rest of the way, but pause to add in some stuffing. Then sew it all up. It is finished and ready to add to... pretty much anything.

Avocado

Cut these shapes out of felt. If you are a having trouble cutting out the right shapes, draw them on paper first then trace them onto the felt.
Sew the pit onto the light green peice.
I put a face on mine, but that is optional. I embroidered it on, you could sew on tiny felt circles for eyes if you want.
Line up the two green peices and begin sewing around them. Stop when you get to where you want the loop to be. Fold a peice of ribbon in half to make a little loop, then stick it between the green pieces and sew in.
Sew most of the way around the rest, but stop to add in some stuffing.
Finish by sewing the rest of the way around the avocado. Then you can clip it to your backpack, purse, keys, etc.

Mushroom

Cut these shapes out of felt. If you are a having trouble cutting out the right shapes, draw them on paper first then trace them onto the felt. I also cut out some small white circles, and note that I end up shortening the stem for the mushroom.
Sew small white circles on one of the red pieces.
Sew on the stem in between the two red pieces.
Keep sewing around the mushroom. Stop when you get to where you want the loop to be. Fold a peice of ribbon in half to make a little loop, then stick it between the two mushroom sides and sew in.
Sew most of the way around the rest, but stop to add in some stuffing. Then sew the rest of the way, and it is finished. Now you can put it on, well, whatever you want!
