Miniature Drawstring Backpack

Image
Bags are very usefull and everyone has them, so your dolls need them to, especially with school soon. This bag is pretty versatile and easy to make. You can change the size easily for different size dolls. It not only works as a backpack but as a shoulder bag. It also can actually fit things inside it and close! Supplies: fabric (you do not need much, so you can use scraps.) scissors pen or pencil (optional) needle and thread sewing machine (optional) ribbon or string safety pin ruler (optional) 1. Cut two rectangles that are the same size from your fabric. Make them bigger than you want your finished bag to be. 2. Put your rectangles right sides together. Sew around three sides leave the top open. 4. Fold down the top. Sew all the way around. 5. Flip the back right side out. Then cut little slits in both sides of the top hem. 6. Take string or ribbon and attatch one end to a safety pin. Put it through one of the holes and pull it all the way back out the same one. 7. Sew the ribbon do...

Miniature Dollhouse Bedding

Image
I will show you how to make the bedding for a miniature bed in this tutorial. I have made another post about miniature bedding for a loft bed.. Check out how I changed things for a loft bed in my other post  here.  This project is a sewing one. I like that it uses all strait lines, and also because of that a beginer can make it. Also, MAKE USE OF YOUR IRON! Comforter: What bed is complete without a blanket? Choose two colors of cotton fabric, one for the inside and one for the outside. I think it looks nice to use a colored fabric on the outside and white on the inside, but I also like using other combinations. Make sure that the fabric looks good with your matress. Cut out two rectangles, one from each fabric. They should be bigger than your bed, like in the photo. Put the pieces right sides together. Sew most of the way around the edge but leave and opening to turn it right side out. Turn it and iron the opening in. Then hand sew it closed. Place the comforter on the ...

Mini Vehicle Mat (part 3)

Image
I finished the whole city now. This will tell you how to make the little people and two more vehicles. I also made more  buildings and  cars to fill up the empty space. I love the way this turned out and it is a pretty good toy to play with to. I used polymer clay for all the vehicles. Helicopter: I made a helicopter, and there is a helopad on one of the buildings, the hospital. I like to have the variety in the vehicles.  1. Make a shape like this with your clay. You can start with a circle and then pull one side out more. 2. Make three shapes like this. They will become the propeller.  3. Attatch them to the top of the helocopter. 4. Make a tiny proppellor for the back. Your tiny helocopter is done! Construction Digger: I don't know what this is called. If you made the construction site in my last post, you probably want a vehicle to go inside. It will make it look a lot more like a construction site. Use polymer clay in orange or yellow. 1. Make a shape l...

Mini Vehicle Mat (part 2)

Image
Here is part two of this little city. Today I made the buildings. You can see how I made the cars and mat in  this post.  Here is the pattern for the buildings:  Buildings: I am using building number 2 in the example for photos. The proccess is exactly the same for all the buildings. The only difference is the size when finished. 1. Cut out the building on cardstock or other thick paper. It can be nice to use colored paper to get different colors and looks. Draw on any details you want, like windows, bricks or signs. 2. Fold on all the dotted lines. 3. Glue the tabs to the other sides to make it a cube shape. Now your building is done! You can glue other things onto the roof or around the sides for extra decoration. Construction Site: The construction site was really fun for me to make because the piles of dirt are so fun to twist and pinch. I am planning to make construction vehicles in my next post. 1. Use thick paper or thin cardboard (i am using cardstock) to c...
