DIY Doll Wings

Image
These wings were pretty fun and quick to make, and perfect for a Halloween costume. They are made from paper and are easy to customize. You can change the shape to create a whole different costume like a dragon, bat, or angel. The size is easy to change for different dolls. I think they turned out super cute! I strongly recomend reading all the instructions before starting the project. Supplies: Cardstock (it can be colorful!) Scratch paper for making a pattern Elastic Hot glue Pencil Scissors Optional: Extra decorations (sequins, markers, extra paper, stickers could all be used) We will start by making a pattern before the final wings. Take any piece of paper and fold it in half. Leave a little space before the fold, and then start drawing the shape of a wing. Keep in mind the size in comparison to your doll. When you are happy with the shape, cut out both layers from the fold. When you unfold, you should have two wings connected with that extra space in the middle. If you are h...

DIY Pumkin Earrings

Image
These pumpkin earrings are simple, cute, and perfect for fall. They are made from polymer clay. The size is easy to change, so if you want lighter earrings you can just make a smaller version. I think it would be cute to make multiple pumpkins and then connect them in a chain with jump rings. You could also add leaves or flowers on top of the pumkin. Supplies: Polymer clay something to cut clay with (a butterknife would work) jump rings earring wires needle nose pliers wire or toothpick (to poke hole) Make two equal size balls of orange clay. Then press them flat. Push the bottom of the circles flatter. Pinch the to up and flatten the parts next to the higher point. Shape it into more of a pumkin shape and make the stem longer. Take a butter knife and start making grooves on the pumpkins. They should be slightly curved. Make sure not to cut all the way through the clay. Using a piece of wire, I made a hole in the stem of each pumpkin. This will be where we attach the earring. Bak...

DIY Miniature Dollhouse

Image
I always think it is super adorable when people put a miniature dollhouse inside their own dollhouse, so I thought it would be fun to make one myself. I thought it was pretty fun and easy to make. My favorite part was coloring in the little windows. It did not take me very long to make, maybe about twenty minutes. It is made from paper, so you likely have everything you need on hand already. I strongly recomend reading all the instructions before you make anything so you know what to expect.  First, we need a small box to build our house in. There are two options for this. If you have an extra jewelry box, you can take the lid off and use that. I made my box from oragami. You can learn how  here.  If you use a jewelry box, you might want to cover it in a different color/pattern paper. Trace your box on to paper. Then draw lines where you want different rooms. I think splitting it in four is easiest, but you could do different amount of rooms. Draw in some details o...
